UNIBEN Computer Science Final Year Defense Rescheduled

The Department (now a Faculty) of Computer Science, University of Benin, has announced a rescheduling of its final year project defense. Initially slated for Monday, November 17, the defense has now been brought forward to Thursday, November 6, and Friday, November 7, 2025.

According to the departmental notice, the adjustment was made to ensure a smoother coordination of the defense panels and to align with the university’s broader academic calendar leading up to the convocation week. This change affects all final-year students in the department, who are now expected to have their project materials, documentation, and practical demonstrations ready earlier than initially planned.

Students are advised to make final checks on their project reports, ensure all required materials are properly printed and bound, and confirm their allocated defense groups and venues. Supervisors have also been encouraged to finalize assessments ahead of time to ease the defense process.

While the sudden adjustment may have caused mild concern among some students, the earlier schedule provides a chance for participants to conclude their academic activities before the end-of-semester rush. The department has expressed confidence that the defense sessions will proceed smoothly and showcase the innovative efforts of the 2025 graduating class.
